Linda Fugate-Blumer

I live in Lexington, Kentucky, with my husband Ralph and our two dogs, Mickey and Daisy. It was my privilege to grow up in Perry County, which is located in Eastern Kentucky and is part of the Appalachia Mountains. During my youth, I gained a love for the outdoors and an appreciation for the people and land. This stirred my desire to photograph the beauty of my surroundings and I purchased my first 35mm camera in 1979. After attending the Ohio Institute of Photography in Dayton, Ohio, I became a full time professional portrait photographer. I soon realized that the walls of a studio were too confining. Because of my love of the outdoors, I began to photograph wildflowers and landscapes. I continue to broaden my work to include horses, and impressionistic images.
